WKU Names Ken McDonald Head Men's Basketball Coach

Ken McDonald, an assistant coach at Texas the last four seasons who also served as an assistant with WKU from 1999-2003, was named the Hilltoppers's new head men's basketball coach on Sunday.  During McDonald's 14 years as an assistant, his teams have reached the NCAA Tournament 10 times.

WKU Rally Falls Short Against UCLA

After trailing by 21 at half-time, WKU rallied to within 63-59 with just over 5 minutes remaining before falling to West Region top seed UCLA 88-78 on Thursday night in Phoenix.  Tyrone Brazelton led the Hilltoppers (29-7) with 31 points while Courtney Lee added 18 points and 8 rebounds.

Ty Rogers hit a 3-pointer with three defenders in his face and no time on the clock, and 12th-seeded Western Kentucky University stunned 5th-seeded Drake 101-99 in overtime Friday in the first round of the NCAA tournament's West Regional in Tampa.

Sun Belt Releases All-Conference Basketball Teams

The Sun Belt Conference released its annual Men's and Women's All-Conference teams on Tuesday.  WKU's Courtney Lee and Crystal Kelly were respectively named the Men's and Women's Players of the Year.
